I Drank Alone
November 30, 2007Drinking beer has always been, and always will be, primarily a social activity. For the past three years I have been surrounded by talented writers supporting the various ‘Zones’ at TheManRoom, though to date I have been the lone beer writer. Today, I drink alone no more.
With thousands of breweries and oceans of beer in the world to sample, the daunting task on covering it all is much too large of an undertaking for one person. That is why I am please to announce the formation of TheManRoom’s Beer Dream Team.
We have put together a group of veteran brewers and industry experts to guide you on the next leg of you journey into the world of better ales and lagers.
George Schmidt
As a veteran brewer and blogger, Schmidt brings years of homebrew experience from his successful Internet blog www.schmidt-house.com. Schmidt will focus his column on educating both novice and advance home brewers on the intricacies of crafting a successful beer from start to finish.
Frank Bennett
Microbrew-focused columns will be provided by Frank Bennett in a style that until now has been reserved for finer restaurants. Frank’s musings of pairing beers with foods can be found at www.beerpairing.com.
T. Bradley Jarvis
Whiskey and Brand Ambassador for many renowned Whiskies including Johnnie Walker, Jarvis will focus on the art of understanding and appreciating Whiskies.
Brent Wertz
Executive Chef of Kingsmill Resort and Spa, will focus on cooking and serving food with beer. Chef Wertz’s inaugural column will cover the harmonious relationship between beer and barbequing.
Bob C. Lachky
Executive Vice President of Global Industry Development for Anheuser-Busch, Lachky will function as the Beer Dream Team’s industry insider. Lachky is responsible for the worldwide marketing and award winning advertising of more than 40 Anheuser-Busch brands, including the infamous ‘I Love you, Man,’ ‘Louie the Lizard’ and ‘Whassup?!’ campaigns.
In addition to these phenomenal TMR staff additions, I will continue to write my industry-recognized column, Suds With Securb. I am confident all of you will love the new content, and I thank you for your ongoing support of TMR’s burgeoning Beer Zone. Bruce G. Owens, Jr.
